Chino Hills State Park

The park entrance on the Chino Hills side is at 4721 Sapphire Road. To get there take Soquel Canyon to Elinvar Rd. The initial land acquisition was 2,237 acres and in 1984 The California State park and Recreation Commission officially declared the area a unit of the State Park System. Since then, numerous land acquisitions from various private land owners have expanded the park to it’s current size. The park has over 14,000 acres of rolling grassy hills and valleys dotted with oak and sycamore trees. Visitors can camp or enjoy walking, horseback ride, or mountain bike on more then 90 miles of trails. There are more than 200 species of birds and mammals, numerous reptiles and amphibians and thousands of types of insects and invertebrates live in the park. The park ranges from 400-1,781 feet in elevation. The Discovery Center, on the Brea side of the park offers exhibits about the wildlife, plant life and other natural resources of the park.
